Riverbank self-catering, part of Riverbank House is a substantial, family-owned self catering house in Matlock, which sits by the banks of the River Derwent, close to the bridge, with river frontage and fishing rights for up to 12 guests in 6 comfortable and well-appointed ensuite bedrooms with Freeview TVs.
Riverbank self-catering has its own parking within a quiet cul de sac, and is centrally-located in Matlock, walking distance to the bus and train station, pubs and restaurants. We are a short drive from Bakewell, Chatsworth House & Haddon Hall. The Heights of Abraham & Gulliver’s Kingdom is 1 mile away. A grand self-catering Victorian house located in the heart of the wonderful Matlocks in Derbyshire.

More about the house
Riverbank has a fully equipped, recently modernised stylish kitchen with bifold doors providing access to the beautiful garden. The spacious sitting and dining rooms are large enough for everyone, with comfortable seats for all the guests.
The garden is perhaps the most impressive feature, with an enormous lawned area surrounded by well-kept plants and trees, a lovely summer house and plenty of garden furniture where guests can sit back and enjoy the sun. If you are a fisher-man, or -woman, we have our own rights to fish, for trout, grayling or chubb on the River Derwent (rod license required) which meanders around the end of the garden.
Walking Distance into Matlock
Riverbank is situated within walking distance of the heart of the spa town of Matlock, with several fine restaurants and pubs in the town centre. The bus and railway station are only five minutes walk from us. Guests have access to a variety of amenities as well as a Spa.
Great for children
The beautiful green flag awarded Hall Leys Park sits on the opposite bank from the house, here you can enjoy a coffee in the Park Café whilst children can ride the miniature railway or play in the play area.
There also a variety of activities and facilities available for you to enjoy such as a skate boarding area, tennis, table tennis, basket ball and 5-a-side football courts.
Ideal for walkers, cyclists exploring the Peak District
Our self-catering holiday house is ideally placed, and makes it a great base for exploring the Peak District National Park for walkers, cyclists and potholers.
There are so many attractions nearby for young and old, from Alton Towers, to Gulliver’s Kingdom, historic houses such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall or take the cable car to the Heights of Abraham.
