More about the house

Riverbank has a fully equipped, recently modernised stylish kitchen with bifold doors providing access to the beautiful garden. The spacious sitting and dining rooms are large enough for everyone, with comfortable seats for all the guests.

The garden is perhaps the most impressive feature, with an enormous lawned area surrounded by well-kept plants and trees, a lovely summer house and plenty of garden furniture where guests can sit back and enjoy the sun.  If you are a fisherman, or -woman, we have our own rights to fish, for trout, grayling or chubb on the River Derwent (rod license required) which meanders around the end of the garden.

Walking Distance into Matlock

Riverbank is situated within walking distance of the heart of the spa town of Matlock, with several fine restaurants and pubs in the town centre. The bus and railway station are only a five-minute walk from us. Guests have access to a variety of amenities as well as a Spa.

Great for children

The beautiful green flag awarded Hall Leys Park sits on the opposite bank from the house, here you can enjoy a coffee in the Park Café whilst children can ride the miniature railway or play in the play area.

There is also a variety of activities and facilities available for you to enjoy such as a skateboarding area, tennis, table tennis, basketball and 5-a-side football courts.

Ideal for walkers, cyclists exploring the Peak District

Our self-catering holiday house is ideally placed and makes it a great base for exploring the Peak District National Park for walkers, cyclists and potholers.

There are so many attractions nearby for young and old, from Alton Towers to Gulliver’s Kingdom, historic houses such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall or take the cable car to the Heights of Abraham.
